Four Seasons has long had a paradise for families in Punta Mita, but with the 2022 opening of neighboring Naviva, the brand welcomed a whole new type of luxury. This adults-only sanctuary has 15 tents undulating tents that peek above the jungle, offering dramatic glimpses of the Pacific and immersive privacy. The textures are luxe, with canvas walls and stone bathrooms, and vintage touches offer a feeling of safari on the Pacific coast. Days drift by with gentle intention: start with cliff-side yoga or a hike through jungle trails, slide into an open-air spa pod or traditional temazcal sweat lodge, then linger over mezcal cocktails and farm-to-table cuisine at Copal Cocina.

What We Loved: In a new model for Four Seasons, the experience on property is all-inclusive, including any dish you can dream up and many activities. The staff comes from a place of yes, which is our definition of true luxury.

What We Didn’t Love: Some people just aren’t into the boutique wellness category of property. If you’re seeking a lively beach-resort atmosphere, with nightlife, lots of activities, or big social scenes, Naviva may feel a little monastic.

Right For: Couples, solo travelers, mother-daughter trips.

Wrong For: Families with kids and groups looking for all sorts of activities may be more entertained next door at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita.

Best Time to Visit: Late November through April is prime-time for pleasant weather, calm seas, ideal for beach, kayaking, hiking, and whale-watching along the Pacific.

TLF Tip: If you’re a soundbath person, they do an excellent one at Naviva.
