Wandrist Travel

New York, New York | Paris, France

Wandrist Travel was built for travelers who know that the difference between a good trip and an extraordinary one rarely comes down to the hotels. It comes down to the details no algorithm can find: the restaurant that feels exactly right for that particular night, the guide who opens doors that don't appear on any map, the timing of an experience that turns a moment into a memory. That kind of travel takes taste, intuition, and the kind of deep, on-the-ground knowledge that only comes from years of genuine immersion in the places worth going to.

We work with a deliberately small roster of clients on fully bespoke itineraries, from milestone trips and multigenerational holidays to the long weekends that still deserve real intention behind them. Every journey is designed around how each client actually moves through the world, not a template of how most people do. The process is hands-on and relationship-driven from the first conversation, and the goal is always a long-term partnership that evolves as clients do.

Wandrist Travel manages the full scope of every trip: accommodations, private touring, villa stays, yachting, on-the-ground logistics, and real-time support from departure to return, all executed through a trusted global network of preferred partners vetted for quality and access. What looks perfect online often falls short in person. Wandrist exists to bridge that distance, delivering travel that is as seamless in execution as it is thoughtful in design, for clients who expect both.

Pamela Schein Murphy didn't discover travel until her thirties, which she'll tell you herself, and which makes the depth of her expertise all the more remarkable. What started as a first trip to Paris with her mother became a full-scale reorientation, and she has spent the years since making up for lost time with considerable enthusiasm.

Before founding Wandrist Travel, Murphy built a career that was, in retrospect, perfect training for exactly this work. She climbed the masthead at some of the biggest names in women's publishing, including Elle, Glamour, and Mirabella, before launching Madison, her own lifestyle magazine covering travel, food, fashion, and culture. She produced films with Ed Burns, ran marketing and PR for her husband Chef Marc Murphy's restaurant group, and founded The R.E.S.T. Initiative, which brought massage therapy into chemotherapy treatment rooms following her own experience with breast cancer. She also created The Select 7, an online magazine built entirely around the art of the recommendation, which is, not coincidentally, precisely what she does now.

That editorial instinct for what is worth paying attention to, combined with deep roots in hospitality and a genuine obsession with food, design, and culture, is what distinguishes how Murphy plans travel. She has been named a Condé Nast Traveler Top Travel Specialist in both 2025 and 2026, a recognition that reflects both her industry relationships and the caliber of the experiences she designs for clients. Her approach is personal, specific, and unhurried, built around understanding how each traveler moves through the world so that every itinerary feels less like a schedule and more like a natural extension of who they are.

She is based in New York City, spends meaningful time in Paris, and has been known to plan an entire trip around a great meal, a live concert, and in search of the next place no one has heard of ... yet.

Olivia's curiosity about the world started with family vacations and grew into something much bigger once she had the freedom to explore on her own terms. During her undergraduate years she studied abroad in Sydney and completed a two-month trek through the Himalayas in Nepal — an experience that pushed her well outside her comfort zone and left her wanting more. Since then, she has worked coast to coast in Australia, explored India and Sri Lanka, and spent two summers living in Amsterdam. Her love of beautiful spaces, deep hospitality experience, and genuine care for people led her naturally to a career as a travel designer.
